KPN | Keystone Purchasing Network

What is KPN?

A National Purchasing Co-Op: The Keystone Purchasing Network (KPN) is a nationwide purchasing Co-Op that is administered by Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit in Milton, PA to streamline the buying process for schools, municipalities and other public agencies. KPN was developed to identify qualified vendors of goods and services, comply with state bidding requirements and to relieve the burdens of governmental purchasing by realising the advantages of joint purchasing power. KPN competitively bids and awards all vendor contracts. Membership is available in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Registration with KPN is FREE and gives members the advantages of leveraging the cooperative’s ability to obtain bulk discounts and saves time with your procurement process for bids/RFPs.

K-Log offers a 5% discount to KPN members.

Who Can Join KPN?

Check with your Purchasing Manager: Municipalities, Counties and other Local Goverments, K-12 Public School Districts, Colleges and Universities, Nonpublic Schools, Charter Schools, Libraries, State Agencies and Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Corporations that permit coopertive purchasing are all eligible to become KPN members. Membership qualification is specific to your home state, so verify that your state’s purchasing laws allow for the operation of purchasing Co-Ops.

Membership is free.

Can We Be A Member Of More Than One Co-Op?

Yes, membership is allowed in KPN and other Co-Ops: Many organizations are members of KPN, as well as additional Co-Ops and purchasing contracts. This offers the benefits of a wide product selection from multiple approved vendors.

Can Membership Be Done Online?

Register online in a few simple steps: Membership registration can be done online in most states. Just go to the KPN website at www.thekpn.org and click on the “Membership” link. Because membership documents vary by state, it’s always best to check with your purchasing administrator to confirm what the statutes are in your particular jurisdiction.

As A Member, Are We Restricted To Only Purchase From KPN?

No, you still have purchasing choices: KPN is an OPTIONAL USE Purchasing Program for Public Agencies Nationwide. If your organization becomes a member of KPN you are still free to purchase from your choice of vendors. You are not restricted to making purchases solely through the Co-Op. Being a member of a national Co-Op is non-exclusive, so the choice is yours as to who you order from.

How Do We Place Our Purchase Orders?

Purchase orders are issued directly to the Vendor: Contact us for a formal quote, including shipping, before placing your PO. Then prepare your purchase order as usual, referencing the PO title and KPN Contract number with the 5% discount subtracted.
